Intern Offers

Funded by the DFG, GESEP organizes the so-called GESEP School every year, a prestigious training course for young geoscientists, which provides the basis for scientific drilling. In addition, courses on the use of instruments and software are offered on request. For example, the use of the data information system "ExpeditionDIS", training units at the core repositories in Bremen and Berlin-Spandau for the initial description and opening of drill cores as well as the operation of the various analytical instruments are offered.

The topic of the training course will be "Geoscientific and Environmental Drilling, Sampling and Analyses". About 30 young geoscientists (doctoral students, post-docs, students in the final phase of the study) will be invited to participate in this course that includes seminars and practical exercises.

The key topics of the training course will be:

  1. Drilling & sampling of rock, sediment and ice
